The series continues to chronicle the day-to-day life of imaginary Hollywood celebrity Vincent “Vince” Chase, and his entourage — his best friend-turned manager Eric, half-brother Johnny Drama, and party pal/aspiring rap producer Turtle, and his foul-mouthed, ill-tempered agent, Ari Gold.
In this season, the show focuses on Vince’s attempts to rejuvenate his sagging career after the disastrous screening of his movie, Medellin, at the Cannes Film Festival at the finale of season four. “Eric is determined to get Vince back to the top, while struggling with his expanding management company. Agent Ari Gold, who is having a few career conflicts of his own, struggles to deliver for Vince, given the current state of things,” HBO said in a statement.
The 12-episode fifth season will feature guest appearances by singer Tony Bennett, golfer Phil Mickelson, actor Eric Roberts, film critics Richard Roeper and Michael Phillips, studio executive Tom Rothman, actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, network executive Ben Silverman and Mr. Wahlberg himself.
The new season of Entourage will air on HBO every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. Subscribers of SkyCable’s premium pack can catch the entire season on HBO Signature channel over three consecutive days with four new 30-minute episodes airing one after the other from April 20 to 22 starting at 10 p.m. HBO Signature will also have a weekend marathon screening of the entire season on April 25 and 26 starting at midnight.
